Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew has welcomed her first child with husband Neil Varcoe, a Channel Seven spokesperson confirmed to Starts at 60.

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2018, are now a family of three after welcoming a baby girl into the world on Wednesday evening, whom they have chosen to name Molly Varcoe.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the couple said: “Late like her mum, tall like her dad and already an early riser. We are exhausted, elated and very grateful for all the lovely messages of support over the last few weeks.”

Just last week, the morning television host shared an image of her blooming baby bump on social media as she revealed that she had gone overdue. She wrote on Instagram: “9 months + 3 days + moving house.”

Edwina first announced her pregnancy during an episode of the breakfast television program back in June, surprising colleague David ‘Kochie’ Koch live on air with her special news.

“I have a bit of an announcement myself!” she said at the time. Then, as a clearly shocked Kochie looked at her, she added: “The girls already know, but Kochie surprise…”

As he rushed to hug her and shouted out in delight, Edwina added for viewers: “We’re having a baby!” before adding that she’s due at “the end of the year”.

At the time, Edwina admitted that she wanted to wait to find out whether she’s having a boy or a girl, however her husband wanted to know.
