2018 was an extremely difficult year for cricket star David Warner and his wife Candice, but the couple decided to end the year on a high by announcing they are expecting their third child.

Candice, 33, took to her Instagram page on Monday evening to make the exciting announcement. Despite the rough year, she chose to include nine happy photographs of her children and husband before sharing the big news.

“Being together has made us into the family we are today. We are so grateful for all the love and support everyone has shown us this year,” the model said. “It is with a full heart that @davidwarner31 & I would like to share with you that in 2019 our family of 4 will become a family of 5.

“We have another beautiful baby joining our family. We are so thrilled! We wish everyone a Happy new year.”

The post was flooded with well wishes for the happy couple.

One person wrote: “Congratulations, beautiful news! Happy new year to you all.”

Another message read: “Congratulations. That’s a great way to finish 2018. I’m sure it’s upside for the Warner family in 2019.”

A third added: “Hope your family has a great year. We wish you both all good things and our family really miss watching David doing what he loves on the cricket field.”

Candice and David are already parents to daughters Ivy Mae and Indi Rae.

In May last year, Candice revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage just a week after her husband was forced to give a tearful apology for his involvement in the ball tampering scandal that rocked Australian cricket.

Speaking in a moving and open chat with Australian Women’s Weekly at the time, the former ironwoman said losing her unborn baby was “a heartbreaking end to a horror tour”.

“I was bleeding. We knew I was miscarrying. We held one another and cried,” she told the publication.

She said that the stress of the cricket scandal at the time had a huge impact on them all, and added: “The ordeal from the public humiliations to the ball tampering had taken its toll and, from that moment, we decided nothing will impact our lives like that again.”

The couple had kept that pregnancy secret and had been trying for their third baby since July last year.

Dad-to-be David is yet to make a public statement about the pregnancy.
