Talented singer Celine Dion penned a touching tribute to her late husband René Angélil this week, marking three years since his death.
The Canadian-born performer took to Instagram on Monday to share her love for her beloved partner, who died on January 14, 2016, following a long battle with throat cancer.
Paired with a picture of René, the 50-year-old wrote a short, but sweet message to acknowledge how important he was to her and how she will never forget him.
“My dearest René… always with me… always will be,” the post read. “In loving memory…xx.”

The post has received much attention from fans who marvelled at the love Celine and René shared and wished the singer all the best.
“True love lasts forever. Stay strong, my thoughts are with you,” one person commented.
“Together forever. Your love will last till the end of time, together as one,” another added.
While a third said: “He is with you for eternity. Your love and relationship has and always will be inspiring for us all.”
The singer’s late husband and manager, passed away aged 73 and spent his final months in his wife’s care.
Last year, Celine opened up about her heartache over losing René and the truth behind their beautiful love story in an interview with The Project‘s Lisa Wilkinson.
Speaking about her grief following his death, she said: “For three years my husband did not have a sip of water, or any food, he ate through a tube. The only think I hoped during his three years of agony was, I wanted him to live in peace. I wanted him to feel so light, and no worries.”
She explained he eventually had a “little heart attack”, and he didn’t end up feeling anything. “I thought that he was liberated from his pain,” she added.

Celine went on to describe their epic love story, insisting he was the only man she had ever loved – even kissed – despite her mum being wary of their relationship and their 26-year age gap. The pair have always maintained they only became romantically involved when Celine was 20.
The singer explained: “I fell in love with him immediately. Not in the romance way, I was 12-years-old, I was in love with the way he treated everyone around me, including my whole family and myself.”
The pair shared their first kiss when Celine was 20, and married six years later. “He taught me everything. He’s the only man I’ve seen, he’s the only man I’ve loved, and I’ve never kissed another man in my life,” she told the host.
