Tender slow cooker lamb shoulder with garlic and rosemary

It’s all about delicious slow cooker recipes this week and what better way to start off than with this mouthwateringly good lamb dish? With hints of garlic and rosemary coating this hearty slab of meat, the comforting recipe is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Cooking up this easy-to-prepare lamb shoulder is a great way to fill your house with delicious aromas as well as satisfying a hungry crowd. You just can’t go past it!


  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 large sprigs of rosemary
  • 6 cloves of garlic, finely sliced
  • 4 carrots, peeled and cut in half lengthways
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1 cup of chicken stock
  • 1 lamb shoulder (make sure it will fit in slow cooker)
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Heat olive oil in large frypan. Add half the garlic. Season lamb shoulder until brown on the outside.
  2. Fill bottom of slow cooker with carrots. Layer half the rosemary on top of carrots. Place the lamb shoulder on top. Sprinkle with more salt and pepper seasoning. Top with remaining rosemary and garlic.
  3. Add one cup of wine and stock to frypan. Heat until boiling. Pour into slow cooker. Cover top of lamb with baking paper. Place lid on slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve.
