Is it just us, or can you not spent longer than five minutes online these days without stumbling across a mouthwatering air fryer recipe? From delectable desserts to perfect pork crackling and even spicy curries, home cooks across Australia have embraced the trend and produced some very impressive meals as a result.

While air fryers have been around for years, they have soared in popularity in recent months thanks to the sale of affordable options in high street stores such as Kmart, Big W and more. They can be used to cook a range of foods and work by circulating hot air around the food to achieve a crunchy, crispy exterior, without the need to use an excess of oil.

One mum became a viral sensation recently after she shared her super simple recipe for making banoffee inspired tarts in her trusty air fryer. She shared the simple recipe on Facebook group ‘Share Kmart Air Fryer Recipes’ and was met with high praise from other air fryer fanatics. Hundreds of people commented on the post, with many saying they couldn’t wait to give the recipe a go themselves.

One person wrote: That’s looks delicious!” Another commented: “Oh these look and sound delicious!” While another home cook said: “Love this. You can also heat up some biscuits like ginger nut or Anzac’s on a cup cake tray in the oven for a few minutes and then push them down to make your own little tart shells.”

So, if you fancy trying these tarts out for yourself, here’s how to make them.
