About Mark Holden

Mark Holden was the Justin Beiber of Australia in the 1970’s. He was signed to EMI and had 4 Top Ten singles including Never Gonna Fall In Love Again, I Wanna Make You My Lady and 2 Platinum albums. He was a regular on the iconic ABC television program Countdown as a performer and host and was one of the original Young Doctors on the international hit soap opera playing Dr. Greg Mason. In the 1980’s he moved to the US where he became a hit song writer for The Temptations, Donny Osmond, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, Belinda Carlisle, Fleetwood Mac, David Hasselhoff as well as producing and writing the Baywatch Soundtrack Album. In the 1990’s Mark returned to Australia and with Jack Strom discovered Vanessa Amorosi who was launched worldwide and enjoyed many hits that Mark wrote including Absolutely Everybody [ which was Top 10 in 21 countries] and Shine which was the #1 most played song in Australia in 2001. In the 2000’s Mark was a judge on Australian Idol and became famous for his “Touchdown” catchphrase and in 2009 he made the switch back to the law and signed the Bar Roll to became a barrister. In 2014 he made national headlines again for his now infamous appearances on Dancing With The Stars particularly as Bobo the Clown and Vladimir Putin. In May 2017 Mark released his book “ My Idol Years” to critical acclaim. Mark has just finished writing his one-man show 'The Greatest Show On Earth' - tall tales and songs about his family circus The Holden Brothers Travelling Circus and from his book. It will be launched in 2018.
