They are due to visit Australia later this year, and Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle have already formed a close bond with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and his wife Lucy.

The happy couples met and enjoyed some light-hearted conversation in front of the cameras as Turnbull hosted a reception in London ahead of the Invictus Games in Sydney later this year.

Meghan looked incredible in a floaty green summer dress from Harvey Nichols – estimated to have cost around $550 – and black stiletto heels. Adding a $2285 Alexander McQueen black blazer to the ensemble, she appeared very glamorous for the evening.

Meanwhile, Lucy pulled out all the stops and shone out in a figure-hugging bright red jumpsuit, looking a million dollars next to her husband. She appeared to hit it off with Meghan early on, as the pair were pictured laughing together as they met outside.

“As you know we are a sporting nation and my heart will be with the green and gold,” he reportedly said. “You’ll receive an absolutely rapturous welcome in Sydney.”

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are just weeks away from tying the knot in the long-anticipated royal wedding in May.

The pair haven’t revealed their full guest list, but it’s previously been claimed they won’t be inviting any foreign heads of state – which would mean the Turnbulls may not make the cut.

It comes after Harry announced his bride-to-be would join him in his work as youth ambassador to the Commonwealth recently.

Harry, 33, gushed over Meghan, 36, in a speech at the Commonwealth summit, saying he’s “incredibly grateful” she will be working alongside him.

Making his first address since being appointed Commonwealth Youth Ambassador by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, Harry said: “I am incredibly grateful that the woman I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, of which she too is hugely excited to take part in”.

He added: “In my new role, I will work to support The Queen, my father The Prince of Wales, and my brother William, all of whom know that young people are the answer to the challenges of today.”
