Royal fans have received quite the treat this week as another household from the British Royal Family has just given the public a sneak peek of their latest Christmas card.

On Tuesday, December 13, William and Catherine released their family’s first Christmas card portrait since receiving their new titles as Prince and Princess of Wales.

“Sharing a new picture of the family for this year’s Christmas card!” they captioned the post.

The photograph, which was taken by Matt Porteous, shows the family of five walking hand in hand as they stroll through a pebbled pathway at their home in Norfolk, England.

Dressed as casual as ever, William, 40, and Catherine, also 40, wear dark blue jeans with long-sleeved button-downs. William sports a navy blue Ralph Lauren top that pairs nicely with his dark blue runners, while his wife wears a white floral top to match her white sneakers.

Prince George, 9, his sister Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, wore varying shades of blue. George, like his father, wears a sky-blue Polo Ralph Lauren top with dark blue shorts and matching blue shoes. Charlotte looks as carefree as ever in a light-washed denim onesie with red flowers. While Louis wears a striped shirt tucked into light blue shorts.

Royal fans were clearly delighted by the family’s laidback portrait, with many taking to the comment section to express their approval.

“Total class and genuinely happy. That’s what comes from taking responsibility bigger than yourself…giving to others and representing your country. Wishing them all the best this coming year of the coronation of King Charles.”

“I love this photo. It’s nice to see royals, so relaxed and just having fun, like anyone else.”

“This! Strength. Cohesion. Bond. Sure strides. Determination. Love.Dynamic… I’m sooo loving this picture of the Wales family.”

“Wonderful, what a joyous picture and so proud to be British, what a great family, bless you all Merry Christmas.”

This isn’t the first time William and Catherine have gone for a more relaxed holiday card. Last year the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a never-before-seen photo of their family taken during a private trip to Jordan.

In 2020, the family shared a sweet snap of themselves huddled together on top of a bale of hay in front of a background of chopped wood. The wintery photo saw all five wrapped up in their warmest jumpers, which is a slight change from the autumn-inspired shot in 2019.

The Wales family Christmas card comes ahead of the Royal Christmas carol service which Catherine will be hosting for the second year in a row.
