Actress Elizabeth Debicki, 31, has been pictured filming scenes in London for the new season of hit Netflix series, The Crown recently. In the pictures, it’s as if Princess Diana has come back to life, as the actress looks extraordinarily similar to the late princess.

Debicki was pictured sporting a bright red puffer jacket paired with tight black jeans, brown cowboy boots and a gold and navy baseball cap.

The French-Australian actress captured the attention of onlookers and fans alike, with many pointing out Debicki’s strikingly similar appearance to an image of Princess Diana captured on a ski trip to Lech, Austria in 1994.

In other images captured during the set, Debicki was seen filming all-to-familiar scenes for the upcoming season 5 of The Crown.

Debicki was filmed driving an Audi and being chased through traffic by a group of unknown men. The scene poses a clear resemblance to the events of Princess Diana’s infamous death in 1996 after she died in a car crash whilst being chased by paparazzi.

Upon the announcement of Debicki’s casting in 2020, taking over from previous actress Emma Corrin, Debicki spoke of her fondness for Princess Diana and her sense of privilege in taking on the role.

The Crown is well-known for its regular recasting, as actors are frequently changed in accordance with the time-span of the historically-based series.

Robert Sterne, casting director of season 4 of The Crown, told ELLE, “It’s not only that you’ve got to find actors who can successfully embody real-life, well-known people, but you’ve got to make sure there’s a continuity as it’s passed from the younger to the older version of the actor”.

“Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from e

Netflix original series, The Crown, first graced Australian screens on November 4, 2016, and has since become hugely popular among global audiences.

Currently, there are four seasons of The Crown available to stream on Netflix, with the fifth season set to air in November of this year.

The final two seasons of the hit series will see the trials and tribulations of the Royal Family from the 1990s to 2003, commencing from where the series left off in season four.

The final seasons will see a particular focus on Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s strained relationship in the years before her death, which will conveniently follow on from season four’s betrayal of their early romance.

The final season is rumored to follow the events of Diana’s sudden and premature death, and these new images of Debicki’s car chase scene in London seem to confirm that.
