She’s 71 years young and Hollywood actress Sally Field has shown no signs of slowing down or giving up her youthful appearance in older age.
The star, famous for her roles in hit films such as Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire and Smokey and the Bandit, was spotted at a very special event in New York City overnight. Held at New York’s 92nd Y institution, Sally sat down with American TV journalist Cynthia McFadden to discuss her upcoming Memoir, In Pieces.
Before making her way inside for the event to talk about her new book, her upbringing, her spectacular acting career and role as a mother and daughter, Sally happily posed for photographs outside the venue. For the outing, the Kiss Me Goodbye actress opted for an all-cream ensemble that worked perfectly for her.
Sally perfectly matched a knee-length shirt, top and cardigan for the event. She finished the look with a simple pair of tan heels and a bracelet on her wrist.
Sally wore her luscious brunette locks down past her shoulders and looked smart in a trendy pair of glasses. She also opted for a natural make-up look, showing off her glowing complexion.
Sally recently announced to fans that she would be touring America ahead of the release of her book In Pieces. She first announced plans the book last year, explaining it would be a tell-all and show fans a side of her they’ve never seen before.

“In Pieces is about the little girl that I was, about the teenager who backed into becoming a celebrity, and about the craft that taught me to stand on my feet, a craft that helped me find my way out of a complicated childhood,” she said at the time.
In a further tweet, she explained she would be revealing things she never has before.
“I knew I had a story to tell,” she said. “It’s incredibly personal for me, things I never thought I’d say out loud. But, I needed to put all the pieces in front of me so I could see what picture they made. Maybe others will recognise some of the pieces in themselves.”
She also revealed it took her several years to complete the book. Given she got her big break as beach babe Gidget in the ‘60s TV series of the same name, she’s literally had decades of life experiences to fit into her new memoir.
Although being one of Hollywood’s leading ladies, Sally has always worked very hard to keep her private life out of the public eye. Still, her previous relationships with the late Burt Reynolds and marriages to Steve Craig and Alan Greisman became top showbiz news. This will be one of the first times she’s been able to give her personal insight on moments that changed her life.
