The Christmas ads have begun, and while some are very funny and clever, Heathrow Airport’s is making people all around the world fall in love. The ad is Heathrow’s first Christmas video campaign and celebrates “the best gift of all”. So what about the ad is making everyone love it so much?

Well, the ad follows two adorable teddy bears making their way to Heathrow Airport to visit their family. The teddy bears, representing an older couple, are followed from the plane through the terminal to meeting their family. But just wait until you see the ending, it just might bring a tear to your eye.

The soundtrack to the ad is a Chas and Dave track, adding all the more magic to the commercial. It’s also been described by the Huffington Post as like that “Love Actually moment” from the iconic movie Love Actually, by Heathrow Airport’s Julia Weir.

In a statement Heathrow’s Commercial Director Jonathan Coen described Christmas as his favourite time of year at Heathrow.

“The airport is abuzz with families and friends reuniting for this special time of year,” he said. “We love the film and hope the bears’ journey through the airport captures that excitement you feel when walking through Heathrow arrivals into the arms of your loved ones at Christmas.”

The commercial took three days to film at Heathrow airport, which was in full operation at the time of filming. The crew had to overcome a number of challenges faced when filming in multiple terminals, on the tarmac and in restricted locations.

How beautiful is this? What do you think of the commercial? And what about that ending? Let us know in the comments section below.
