In a shocking announcement, Buckingham Palace revealed that King Charles has been diagnosed with “a form of cancer”.
The news comes after the Monarch spent three nights in the hospital recently for a corrective procedure related to a benign enlarged prostate, where a separate concerning issue was identified.
The palace, in a statement, disclosed that subsequent diagnostic tests confirmed the presence of cancer. While the specific details about the type of cancer were not provided, it was clarified that it is not related to the previous prostate issue.
“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the statement read.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.
“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.
“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”
The phrase “God Save The King” now takes on a more profound meaning as messages of support pour in from across the globe. Social media platforms are flooded with well-wishes for the Monarch’s speedy recovery.
“Thank you to King Charles, for his openness in sharing his medical diagnosis, and every best wish for a speedy recovery. His decision to share his journey will undoubtedly lead to other men being checked and catching issues in earlier stages of development. This will be his legacy,” one person wrote.
“Wishing King Charles a speedy recovery.”
“My thoughts are with his majesty.”
“God Save The King!” commented another.
“Prayers for His Majesty and the whole royal family.”
“Very sad news! I am so sorry for His Majesty and I hope he will have a full recovery.”
As reported by People magazine, King Charles personally informed Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward about his cancer diagnosis before the public announcement.
Prince Harry, currently residing in the United States, is expected to visit the United Kingdom to be by his father’s side during this challenging time.
As the world unites in support, the global community remains hopeful for King Charles’s swift recovery.
