Sir Tom Jones is an entertainment legend and still delivers incredible performances at sold-out shows to this day, but despite his long career, the singing sensation admits that he wonders how long it will last.

Jones shared the candid admission with his fellow judges on The Voice, reflecting on the possible end of his career.

The 84-year-old Welsh icon admitted that he was surprised by his career longevity and could not believe how strong his voice still sounded.

“As the years go on, you think ‘How long is this voice going to last?'” he said.

“I’m on stage and I open up and there it is and I think ‘Is that voice coming from me?’ and that’s the God’s honest truth, you know’.”

The She’s A Lady singer also said that the joy of performing worked like a fountain of youth.

“It’s a wonderful life, you know, show business,” Jones told his fellow judges.

“When you perform on stage and you get that love coming back from the audience. You think ‘What could be better than this?’ and that’s the way I still feel today.

“Like I did when I was a kid.”

While Jones’ comments suggest that he has no plans to hang up the mic anytime soon, the iconic singer recently revealed the sole reason that would prompt him to bid farewell to the spotlight.

“The only way [I would retire] is if I couldn’t sing anymore,’ he told Metro.

“If something went wrong with my vocal ability, I wouldn’t want to go on not in full strength. I wouldn’t like to shortchange an audience.

“Being old, you can’t do what you used to do. I mean, I can’t walk around like I used to but I wouldn’t want to now.

“When you’re young you’re full of p*** and vinegar and you’re giving it plenty. Now I concentrate more on singing than I do anything else.

“When you’re young, you’re moving around the stage and want to get as much out of it as possible, and you have to be careful you don’t burn out. You can fire all your guns at once and that could be a problem. So you’ve got to learn to pace yourself, that’s important.”

Jones also revealed what keeps him going after decades of captivating audiences with his electrifying performances.

“The basic thing is I still love to sing. I love singing now as much as I ever did,” he revealed.
