Sophie is getting into the festive spirit! The Countess of Wessex, who is married to the Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward, stepped out on Thursday in a very ‘Christmassy’ outfit to visit the Corps of Army Music for a renaming ceremony and short parade at Kneller Hall in Twickenham, England.

For the occasion, the mother-of-two, who was accompanied by her husband, opted for a long light-grey coat, a burgundy scarf, black leather gloves and suede boots. But it was Sophie’s eye-catching burgundy hat that really stole the show. While it definitely stands out, the hat perfectly suits the ensemble without being too showy. A hint of green can also be seen just under Sophie’s scarf.

The 55-year-old accessorised with a pair of green dangling earrings and a beautiful necklace, and wore her blonde locks out.

Meanwhile, Edward, 56, also got into the festive spirit, sporting a red-and-green tie for the occasion.

It comes just a few days after Sophie joined other senior royal members at Windsor Castle for an event hosted by the Queen. Prince William and Catherine, who recently returned from a three-day train tour of the UK, as well as Prince Charles and Camilla and Princess Anne were also in attendance. The purpose of the engagement was to thank essential workers and volunteers from the area.

The royal family’s official Instagram account shared several pictures from the outing, with one showing the family social distancing on the steps of Windsor Castle as a band played Christmas songs.

The 94-year-old monarch stood out in a festive bright-red coat and matching hat, while Sophie, Catherine, Camilla and Anne also put their best fashion feet forward.

Sophie wore a stylish light-grey coat with a chocolate-brown scarf at the event, while Catherine opted for a long dark-green coat that she paired with a black fur stole. Camilla didn’t disappoint either, stepping out in an eye-catching purple coat, while the Queen’s daughter Anne opted for a more subtle neutral-looking coat.
