The Wimbledon men’s singles final was one for the books. The highly anticipated match between Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic brought in quite the crowd- even the young Prince George was in attendance, accompanying his parents to the revered tennis tournament.

The 8-year-old, and oldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, made his official Wimbledon debut on Sunday, July 10, as he joined his parents in the Royal Box to watch the thrilling match.

Much to the delight of tennis fans and royal watchers, Prince George was seen making animated facial expressions and flashing cheeky smiles during the match.

Both George and his mother, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, opted for a navy colour scheme for the big match.

The Duchess wearing another midi-length Alessandra Rich polka-dotted dress in a dark blue hue.

The dress featured a Chelsea collar finish with a bow tie at the centre, as well as ruched sleeves and a peplum waist.

The Duchess also wore beige and white slingback pumps and brought a pair of Bvlgari sunglasses. And to complete her look, Kate wore diamond and sapphire earrings with a matching necklace.

Meanwhile, the young royal donned a smart navy blazer with a classic white skirt and blue striped tie.

Prior to the match, the youngster and his parents were greeted by ball boys and girls and other Wimbledon staff who, according to The Telegraph, asked George who he was supporting at the match but appeared to be too shy to give an answer.

When asked why the couple’s daughter 7-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, was not there, Kate explained how it was “George’s treat today.”

Djokovic later emerged victorious and met with the Cambridges, allowing the young prince to hold the coveted trophy.

“Don’t drop it,” Prince William joked as George commented, “it’s a bit heavy” and handed the trophy over to his mother.

George, who has attended other sporting events with his parents in the past, was last spotted out in the public in June, alongside his sister Charlotte and younger brother Prince Louis at their great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in London.
