The royal family has released three new photos of Princess Anne ahead of her 70th birthday next month. The beautiful photos give a rare glimpse inside the Princess Royal’s private home in Gloucestershire, Gatcombe Park estate, where she lives with her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, daughter Zara and her husband Mike Tindall as well as Peter and Autumn Phillips (who are now believed to live in separate properties following their split last year).

In the photos shared on the royal family’s official Instagram page, Anne can be seen posing with a series of farm animals on the grounds of the property, including horses and pigs. The pictures were taken for this week’s Country Life magazine, which was guest-edited by The Princess Royal herself.

“Ahead of her 70th birthday on 15th August, The Princess Royal has guest-edited the July 29 issue of @countrylifemagazine,” the caption reads.

“The 172-page edition of the magazine highlights The Princess’s deep love for and thorough understanding of the countryside and support for those who live and work in it.”

Country Life also shared a snap of Princess Anne from behind the scenes on their Instagram account. They captioned the post: “Working with The Princess Royal on her guest-edited issue involved months of work, thousands of emails and dozens of people. It all came down to this final day, when Country Life’s Editor Mark Hedges and Managing Editor Paula Lester (pictured here with Princess Anne) met for a socially-distanced final check of all the page proofs.”

The royal family has also released a new documentary ‘The Princess Royal at 70’, which aired in the UK on Thursday night, ahead of her 70th birthday in August. The documentary gives royal fans a unique insight into Anne’s public and private life.

Anne’s children Peter and Zara reportedly opened up about their mother’s relationship with their children in the documentary. Peter is father to Savannah, nine and Isla, eight, while Zara shares Mia Grace, six and Lena Elizabeth, two with husband Mike.

She loves seeing them ride, she loves having them around for Sunday lunches,” Peter said, according to the Daily Mail. “Doing all the sorts of stuff we used to do as kids; she now takes them to do this sort of things.”

Zara then chimed in: “We quite like leaving them on Sundays. We’ll say ‘We’ll pick them up later, bye’.”
