It’s been a year since Kerri-Anne Kennerley and her husband John’s worlds were turned upside down.
After a devastating accident in March last year left John wheelchair bound, the couple have been to hell and back.
But they’re not letting it stop them from smiling and having a good time.
As you would remember, John was able to return home in time for Christmas, and while the couple don’t get out as much as they once did, it seems they still know how to have a good time.
The couple made a rare public appearance last week at the fifth anniversary of the Chatswick restaurant in Sydney, owned by their good friend Matt Moran.
As the Sydney Morning Herald reports, Kerri-Anne and John are often referred to as “the life and soul of the party” and they were surrounded by friends and well-wishers at the event.
The pair were pictured with John’s son Simon, who Kerri-Anne described as an “amazing carer” for her husband.

At the event, Kerri-Anne had a few choice words to say about her husband’s condition.
“It’s shit, but it’s our shit,” she told Fairfax.
Kerri-Anne and John’s situation has resonated with many older Australians, particularly those who have been faced with having to care for their partner after an accident or because of old age.
