‘Future Wimbledon champ’: Ash Barty announces the arrival of her first child

Australian tennis champion Ash Barty has delighted fans across the country after announcing the birth of her first child.

Barty took to Instagram, alongside her husband Garry Kissick, to announce the exciting news with an adorable picture of the little bundle of joy, a “beautiful boy” named Hayden.

“Our beautiful boy. Welcome to the world, Hayden!” the new parents wrote.

Barty’s baby news set off a wave of celebration with messages of congratulations and well-wishes pouring in from fans across the country.

“What a blessing,” one fan wrote.

“Future Wimbledon champ? Congratulations!”

“What a gorgeous little bundle of joy! Congratulations guys, hope you’re all doing well,” another commented.

“The greatest triumph. Congratulations!”

“Congratulations Ash and Gaz, enjoy every moment!”

The outpouring of love and support for Barty’s incredible news extended beyond her heartfelt Instagram announcement, as fans from near and far flocked to Twitter to revel in the good news.

While Barty’s legion of loyal fans were over the moon about Barty’s new arrival they were just as excited when she revealed earlier this year that she was expecting.

The former World No. 1 announced her pregnancy on Friday, January 6 via Instagram with a photo of a pair of baby shoes placed next to one of her dogs.

“2023 set to be the best year yet. We are so excited for our new adventure. Origi already the protective big sister,” she wrote.

In addition to embracing the joys of motherhood, Barty has embarked on a number of endeavors since retiring from tennis in 2022. She surprised fans when she achieved victory in a golf tournament at the Brookwater Golf and Country Club and later tied the knot with her long-time partner in a secret ceremony, surprising fans with the happy news.

Barty further expanded her horizons when she ventured into the corporate world as the Chief of Inspiration for the Australian telecom giant Optus.

Most recently she took on the role of ambassador for Australian Made Week 2023 in which she advocated for the benefits of purchasing products that proudly bear the Australian Made logo.
