Have you ever noticed the small black triangle stickers dotted around the cabin of an airplane and wondered what they are for?

These inconspicuous marks often go unnoticed by passengers, but they serve a crucial purpose in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air travel.

According to a viral video shared by flight attendant and Tik Tok user, Henny Lin, there are multiple reasons behind the mysterious stickers.

“Passengers sitting next to the triangles get the best view of the wings,” Lin said in her video.

She also explained that the flight crew use the stickers to give them the “best vantage points for the slats and flaps outside”.

“If you’re flying an airline that allows you to choose your own seat, look for one of the triangles in the cabin,” she said.

“Anybody who loves taking window shots or videos will get the best view over the wings from these seats.”

Flying has its unique challenges and the seasoned flight attendant, who has worked in the industry for the past five years, was quick to share the invaluable insights she has obtained.

Speaking candidly about the potential pitfalls of the onboard bathroom, she suggests that fliers should think twice about using the in-flight restroom facilities.

She encourages passengers to bring their own toilet paper, stating, “If you examine the toilet paper, I promise you’re going to see water droplets on it, or what you think are water droplets.

“I don’t think we can trust most men to make it in the toilet on a normal day, let alone flying at 36,000 feet with turbulence” she added.

As a precaution, she suggests that travellers might want to bring their own toilet paper to ensure a more hygienic experience.

The flight attendant had more tips for travellers looking to make their flights easier including advising them never to wear shorts on a plane.

“I would never wear shorts on a plane,” she declares, highlighting the apparent risk of freezing mid-flight.

However, her second reason takes a more serious turn, focusing on safety.

“Say we have an evacuation. You have to go down the slide. Your butt cheeks are going to be sizzled off,” she explained.

While the scenario may seem extreme, it’s a perspective that most passengers likely haven’t considered.
