Singing sensation Celine Dion has offered her praise of fellow music icon John Farnham following his battle against cancer.

Dion, who is facing her own health woes following her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, took the time to praise the You’re The Voice hitmaker during a recent interview with Sunrise.

“It’s prophetic that I performed (You’re) the Voice with him, then I lost my voice,” she said,

“When he sang that song, live, I listened to him a lot. I wanted to sing that song — I will reach out to him because I respect him so much.

“He’s one of my favourite singers of all time. And I just will never forget the gift that he gave me (of singing it).”

Determined to perform again one day, despite her health challenges, Dion claimed she will perform The Beatles’ classic Help when she returns to the stage in honour of Farnham.

“I tell you that, when I’m back on stage and I sing Help, it will be for you, John, for sure. Thank you for that gift,” she said.

In August 2022, Farnham underwent surgery and treatment for mouth cancer. After enduring multiple surgeries, eight weeks of radiation therapy, and overcoming several challenges, Farnham received the “all-clear” from doctors in July 2023 and was declared cancer free.

Farnham’s son Rob shared the touching snapshots on social media, showing Farnham looking well despite his recent health struggles.

“Shared the happiest moment with my favourite person in the universe and she said I do,” Rob wrote alongside the photos.

“Melissa, my life is forever better that you’re apart of it. You looked radiant, beautiful and elegant. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us and I’m truly honoured to have you by my side as my wife for life.”

Fans were overjoyed at the sight of Farnham in good health, flooding the comments section with congratulations for Rob as well as heartfelt wishes for his father’s continued well-being.
