Massive news for fans of The Chase Australia, ‘The Beast’ Mark Labbett is back and ready to take on those brave enough to be contestants on the popular quiz show. 

Labbett is finally back in Australia and he’s looking slimmer than ever following nearly a 30 kilogram weight loss. 

Not one to shy from sharing his weight loss journey, Labbett joined The Morning Show on Thursday to talk about his transformation.

The 56-year-old revealed at his heaviest he weighed 185 kilograms and now is down to 135 kilograms, saying he was “doing okay.”

Taking to social media, Labbett also showed the extent of his weight loss, posting a shirtless selfie with the caption “Down to 52-inch chest from 60”. So was 5xl, now 2xl.”

‘The Beast’ also told The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies “when I was playing rugby, it was a 46 or a 48, so a few more inches to go but I’m on the way.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Labbett has gone candid about his weight. Last December 2021, Labbett appeared on the British lunchtime chat show Loose Women and shared the secret behind his dramatic weight loss. 

Back then, the quiz wiz accreted his weight loss journey to his diet and the effects of “changing his habits”.

“I’m on a high protein diet… so eating an awful lot of meat and lean meat, and as much as I love chips and other carbs, I’m having quite a bit less than I used to.”

He also told the show how looking after a toddler during lockdown has contributed to his weight-loss progress.

“The principal thing has been running around after a hyperactive three-year-old in lockdown when the nursery was shut.

“I found at the end of the evening instead of going to the fridge for late-night snacking, all I could do was collapse on the bed,” he mused.

In a separate interview with The Pet Show in the UK, Labbett also credited his weight loss to his golden retriever named Baloo, calling the dog “his personal trainer.”

Labbett has been a fixture in the game show world for decades, he’s a “chaser” in the UK, American and Australian versions of The Chase, and has become a household name all over the world.
