For those who dream of traveling Australia in ultimate comfort, The Ghan in Premium Class is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This iconic rail journey from Darwin to Adelaide is already renowned for its breathtaking scenery, but traveling in Premium Class elevates it to something truly special.
It’s a private and cozy retreat on the rails. Forget the bunk beds and shared spaces, Premium Class on The Ghan is all about exclusivity and comfort. Each cabin is a private sanctuary, complete with its own bathroom, plush seating, and premium amenities. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a chilled bottle of champagne, setting the tone for an indulgent journey ahead.
With huge panoramic windows, there is no better way to take in the ever-changing landscapes of the Australian Outback, from the lush tropics of the Northern Territory to the vast red deserts of Central Australia. As The Ghan winds its way through Australia’s heartland, the scenery is truly mesmerising. From the lush green landscapes of the Top End to the striking red sands of the Outback, each moment offers a new perspective on the vastness and beauty of the country.
Dining aboard The Ghan is nothing short of spectacular. We enjoyed chef-prepared gourmet meals featuring fresh Australian produce, all paired with a selection of premium wines, spirits, and beverages. The service is impeccable, ensuring every meal is an occasion to remember.
One of the highlights of The Ghan is the immersive excursions at key destinations along the route. You choose what you would like to experience.
In Katherine, we chose an unforgettable helicopter flight over the majestic Katherine Gorge, offering a birds-eye view of this spectacular natural wonder. Seeing the Nitmiluk National Park from above was a highlight of this trip for me!
During the stop in Alice Springs, we decided to venture out by ourselves and delve into the rich Indigenous culture by exploring the town’s renowned art galleries, where stunning Aboriginal artwork tells the stories of the land, the people and the history. Other options available included a trip to Simpson Gap, Camel Riding or a visit to Alice Springs Desert Park.
These carefully curated experiences add depth and meaning to the journey, making it more than just a train ride. It’s an experience that you won’t forget and will be sharing with all your friends and family!
