Most people have been in a situation where they need to cling wrap something in the kitchen quickly, only to struggle for what seems like an eternity getting the wrap off the roll.

Today Show presenter Karl Stefanovic has unintentionally come up with a way to end the frustration once and for all. Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of the hit breakfast show, the 44-year-old shared his kitchen hack with viewers and his co-hosts.

“Over the weekend, we had a few people around for a barbecue and I was supposed to put Glad Wrap around the food,” he explained.

“But I woke up in the morning and the food was in the fridge, but it didn’t have Glad Wrap around it but the box of Glad Wrap was in the fridge.”

His co-hosts gave him confused looks as he continued with his story.

“What has happened though as a result of this is an incredible discovery,” the presenter gushed. “Glad Wrap works better when you’ve put it in the fridge. It’s chilled Glad Wrap. It doesn’t stick to itself when you put it over stuff.”

Stefanovic described the find as a “remarkable discovery” and couldn’t wait to share it with his coworkers and Australians tuning in around the nation.

“Put your Glad Wrap in the fridge and you’ll find that when you take it out and put it over something, it doesn’t stick to itself.”

Viewers were quick to share their thoughts on Stefanovic’s tip on Facebook.

One person wrote: “I have always kept the glad wrap in the fridge it makes covering so much easier. People think I’m nuts but it works. Thanks Karl for bringing this up on the show.”

Another comment read: “Yes Karl. I’ve been doing this for many many years. Works a treat!”

A third added: “I could have told u that its old news about glad wrap but its true he done something right [SIC].”

Others said they weren’t aware the fridge could prevent the cling wrap from sticking but suggested they were going to give it a try after watching the segment. It would certainly make life a lot easier at the next family gathering or barbecue.

What do you think? Have you ever put cling wrap in the fridge? What’s your tip to prevent it from sticking to the roll?
