It looks like the shirt dress is the must-have wardrobe staple of the season, with Zara Tindall stepping out in a stylish navy-and-white striped Ralph Lauren midi dress at Wimbledon with her husband Mike on Wednesday. On the same day, English actress Helen Mirren was pictured in a chic white shirt dress for day two of the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Princess Anne’s daughter, 40, who recently welcomed her third child, a baby boy, into the world, was stylish as ever in the classic ensemble which she paired with lace-up wedges. She wore her blonde bob out straight and accessorised with a simple navy cross-body bag and a pair of sunnies. Meanwhile, Mike looked smart in a pale blue jacket with dark trousers, a white shirt and patterned tie.

Compared with other years, the royals haven’t been out in full force at the popular tennis tournament this month. Aside from Zara, the only other royal to make an appearance is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, who was pictured at Wimbledon last Friday. For the outing, the mother-of-three wore a pleated polka-dot skirt with a basic white tee and a navy-blue blazer. She completed the look with white heels and a matching bag.

However, it doesn’t look like the duchess will be making any more appearances, as she’s currently self-isolating at her home in Kensington Palace after coming into contact with someone who subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

“Last week, the Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for Covid-19,” Kensington Palace said in a statement at the time. “Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.”

Zara’s outing comes just a few weeks after she sported a number of fabulous outfits at Royal Ascot. For day one, the mother-of-three stepped out in a cream-and-black polka-dot dress by Me+Em. She teamed the outfit with a floral hat, a matching clutch and heels, and wore her hair up in an elegant bun. For her second appearance later in the week, Zara took the style stakes up a notch with a vibrant floral dress paired with a blush pink bespoke headpiece by Sarah Cant.
