How using essential oils can assist hormone imbalance

Thyme oil benefits the body by improving progesterone production. Low progesterone levels have been linked with infertility, PCOS and depression.

Clary Sage oil enhances endocrine system function and balances hormones. Studies show clary sage oil has a statistically significant effect on lowering cortisol and has an anti-depressant effect improving mood. This oil can be used as a natural remedy for PMS cramps.

Thyme, Peppermint and Roman Chamomile can be used to relieve hot flashes naturally.

Rose essential oil can be used as an aphrodisiac, as well as a natural mood lifter.

The easiest way to get essential oils into your system is by having a warm, soothing bath. Choose your oils, add 6-8 drops in total to the bathwater. A couple of drops each of clary sage, geranium and cypress oils in the bath can help to balance your body and aid the reduction of hot flushes or night sweats.

Recipes

  1. Menopause body oil

Ingredients

  • 59 ml vegetable oil or body lotion
  • 1 drop Jasmine oil
  • 2 drops Clary Sage oil
  • 5 drops Geranium oil
  • 6 drops Lemon oil

Mix all the ingredients and use at least one time in a day , as a lotion, as massage or in a bath ( add 2 teaspoons in a warm bath).

  1. Cooling mist for hot flashes

Ingredients

  • 8 drops each of Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage and Peppermint essential oil
  • 29ml of witch hazel extract
  • 90 ml of distilled water

Roman Chamomile and Clary Sage essential oils help to balance mood changes and Peppermint can relax hot flashes. To make your own cooling mist, mix the ingredients in a 115ml glass bottle spray (especially great for night sweats).
