WATCH: Southeast Asia for travellers over 60

Southeast Asia has a lot of appeal for travellers, over 60 or otherwise. But as travel bloggers Jane and Duncan from ToTravelToo.com have found out, it can be one of the most interesting, budget-friendly and enjoyable locations in the world and certainly worth putting on the bucket list.

If you are interested in visiting Southeast Asia, then the lure of variety, culture and an element of adventure are sure to inspire you to begin planning your next journey.

One of the biggest appeals, especially for travellers from Australia, is the easy access to the region and the affordability, says Duncan Dempster-Smith.

“Affordable and the variety is on our doorsteps,” Duncan says. “We spent time in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and you get the opportunity to travel and get exposed to different cultures while also experiencing affordable and safe travel. We love Asia.”

Even despite the language barrier, Jane says that’s never caused them to worry about safety while travelling through the region.

“Actually we haven’t been fearful in Asia at all. For the language barrier we use Google Translate,” she says. “It’s absolutely perfect.
