With the New Year finally here, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has revealed one of her big goals for 2019.

The mother-of-two took to her social media pages on Monday with a previously unseen photograph of herself from a few years back. In the photograph, a young Fergie can be seen beaming at the camera from the inside of a helicopter.

Wearing a black jumper with a floral dress and her luscious red locks pulled back, the look is a far cry from some of the glamorous outfits Sarah has opted for in recent times. Still, her post was not about fashion and rather the fantastic charity and personal goals she has in store for the year ahead.

She explained that one of her personal plans for 2019 is to renew her helicopter licence. She also told her 124,000 Twitter followers that she spoke to The Telegraph in the United Kingdom about her Street Child charity and the latest Count Me In campaign.

Street Child is a charity that focuses on providing education, child protection and livelihood support to millions of children and families worldwide who don’t have it. Since 2008, the charity has helped more than 200,000 children go to school, while more than 15,000 families have been provided with assistance when it comes to setting up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their children long-term.

Sarah is a Founding Patron, while her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are Global Ambassadors of the charity. The latest Count Me In project is all about providing even more children with access to education and the resources they need to learn and to ensure they have the best chance at success.

It’s not the only charity Sarah has been involved with. Last month she travelled all the way from the United Kingdom to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for the Artists for Peace and Justice & Bovet 1822 Gala.

The star-studded event, attended by the likes of Susan Sarandon, Caroline Stanbury, Madeleine Stowe and Ben Stiller, was to raise funds for the Brilliant is Beautiful fund. The fund has been set up to provide thousands of scholarships to young women and girls around the world.

Funds during the evening were raised through ticket sales, a live auction and an awards ceremony. It was the first time the gala was held.

Meanwhile, Artists for Peace and Justice strives for peace and social suggest around the world. The organisation also aims to alleviate poverty by empowering local communities.

For that event, the writer opted for an elegant white gown that was a real showstopper. It included a stunning floral pattern on the chest and around the waist, while the dress itself was floor-length.
