The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared an adorable moment with a toddler at a St Patrick’s Day parade in Aldershot on Thursday, March 17, leaving the couple in a fit of laughter.

The couple were attending the 1st Battalion Irish Guards at Mons Barracks when the hilarious incident took place, which saw a particular Lieutenant place his bearskin hat upon the head of his one year old daughter, Gaia, leaving the toddler looking rather comical.

Despite Gaia’s young age, the little one stood obediently as her father balanced the bearskin hat on her head, leaving William and Kate in hysterics as they watched on in delight.

Young Gaia then offered the Duchess a bouquet of flowers and the two engaged in light chat. The Duchess had brought her own bouquet of flowers to present, however, Gaia had other plans for the exchange.

“Shall we swap? Now you have of both them,” Kate said to Gaia.

Gaia’s mother, Lorraine Money, admired the Duchess for her kind nature, despite her young daughter’s endearing greediness.

“The Duchess was lovely. Gaia took both bouquets and she let them keep them. Gaia has been practising her curtsey at nursery school but failed!” Money joked.

At the annual St Patrick’s parade, The Duchess donned a stunning green, long-sleeve, button up coat, tailored to perfection with a statement collar, shoulder embellishments and matching belt. She paired the outfit with an elegant matching green headpiece, shamrock brooch and of course, her beautiful signature smile. William, who is Colonel of the Irish Guards, wore his traditional Colonel uniform, looking the picture of royal professionalism as he and wife Kate engaged in the special celebrations.

This marks the first time the couple have been able to attend the event since 2019, after the rampant outbreak of Covid-19. During the event, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge presented traditional sprigs of shamrock to the officers and guardsmen, with Kate even presenting one to the regiment’s Irish Wolf Hound mascot, who was dressed rather handsomely in traditional solider attire.

The royal couple have attended a number of trips and engagements recently, having previously attended the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey on Monday, March 14, where Kate donned a dazzling sapphire blue wool crepe coat dress with a silk velvet collar ensemble.
