Prince Harry lost his mother, Princess Diana, at the tender age of 12 in a tragic car accident. Now all these years later Harry has revealed in his latest interview with NBC’s Today that he feels his mother’s “presence in almost everything that I do now”.

“It’s almost as though she’s done her bit with my brother and now she’s very much helping me. She’s got him set up and now she’s helping me set up – that’s what it feels like,” he said, explaining how in the past two years he’s felt her “watching over” him and his family.

When asked if he tells his son Archie,2, about his late grandma, Harry says he doesn’t tell him “all the stuff that happened, but certainly, ‘This is Grandma Diana,'” and revealed that the family have photos of the late Princess in their home.

Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, also have a 10-month-old daughter, Lilibet. Harry also confessed he feels Diana guiding him as he navigates his way through parenthood.

The Duke also revealed he hoped to bring his children to the UK to see their great-grandmother, the Queen, who he and Meghan had recently met for tea at Windsor Castle, on April 14,  en route to The Hague for the Invictus Games.

However, there is still doubt over whether Harry and his family would be attending his grandmother’s Platinum Jubliee celebrations in London this June, as the Duke is currently in a legal battle with the UK Government, arguing that his family needs additional security, which he offered to pay for but was rejected by the Home Office.

“There’s lots of things with security issues and everything else. This is what I’m trying to do, trying to make it possible that I can get my kids to meet her,” he said.

And while Harry refused to make any comments about his feelings towards his father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William, Harry confirmed he still has a “very special relationship” with the Queen, praising her “sense of humour” and even admitting that she talks to him “about things she can’t talk about with anybody else”.

Harry went on to say it had been “really nice to see her” with an “element of privacy”.

“I’m just making sure that she’s protected and has got the right people around her,” he said.

Prior to his surprise visit to see the Queen, Prince Harry was last in the UK on July 2021 to unveil the statue of Princess Diana at Kensington Palace alongside Prince William.

While he returned for his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral on April 2021, he was not present for the first death anniversary memorial service held at Westminster Abbey on March 29.

Prince Harry is due to speak at the Invictus Games closing ceremony on Friday, April 22, before returning home to California. It is believed the Duchess of Sussex left The Hague on Monday, April 19.
