The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have celebrated St David’s Day in the best way possible, by embarking on a trip to Wales yesterday, March 2, before the couple prepared baked treats together on a visit to Blaenavon Hwb, a community based youth centre.

The trip comes as the couple intend to learn more about the significance of Wales’s agricultural industry to rural communities and how local communities are focusing their efforts on helping young children all the while celebrating the rich culture and history of the land.

The Duchess sported casual attire, dressed in all-green as she donned black skinny jeans, a tucked-in turtle-kneck and a stylish long, collared coat. She topped the outfit off with a modern black and silver belt, Aquatalia Rouge heeled ankle boots and black gloves.

The Duke wore a matching green sweater, navy dress pants and navy coat, the couple looking the picture of royal elegance as they pictured smiling and laughing together as they visited Abergavenny Market to learn more about the importance of local suppliers to rural communities.

After the couple’s trip to the markets, they visited a community based youth centre where they enjoyed a game of pool and shared some rather hilarious banter over each-other’s baking abilities.

According the the Daily Mail, Kate was eager to get baking upon arrival, immediately and effortlessly assisting with cooking whilst engaging in casual conversation with a young girl who was also working in the kitchen.

William too tried his best to help as he began rolling and cutting out the dough before making a joke to onlookers at his own expense.

“Do not judge my cooking, this could go horribly wrong. It’s not Bake Off. Where’s Mary (Berry) when you need her?” he said.

Kate then took the opportunity to observe her husband’s efforts, pointing out the thinnest of his cakes.

Poor William didn’t try to rebut his wife’s comedic observation, gracefully conceding, “that one is a little bit skinny. They are probably all a little bit skinny.”

After a swift outfit change, the couple then visited a Welsh farm in Abergravenny called Pant Farm where they enjoyed the company of some rather lovable goats. The farm has been supplying fresh goat’s milk to a local producer for almost two decades. During the visit, the Duke and Duchess shared their efforts to get their three children involved in farming, highlighting the couple’s genuine appreciation for agricultural labour.

The Duke had previously studied agricultural management at Cambridge University in his younger years and it’s clear his studies have informed a passion for embracing local communities and agricultural growth.

The couple’s visit was concluded with a special tribute to the Queen as they painted a “tree for the Jubilee” for the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative which is intended to symbolise Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee – 70 years as reigning Queen on the throne.

The trip comes just a week after the Duchess embarked on her first solo royal tour to Denmark on a working visit with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood where she met with important members of the royal Danish family including The Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Queen Margarethe of Denmark.
