On October 30, 2021, Australia lost one of its greats after the passing of entertainment legend Bert Newton, his loss felt deeply among fans and fellow entertainers alike.
Nowhere has that pain and sorrow been felt more than by his family and those who were close to him. Now, three years on from Bert’s passing, his wife Patti has delivered a touching tribute to her late husband.
Taking to Instagram, Patti marked the solemn occasion with a montage of special moments she and Bert shared together during their time together as she reflected on how much she misses her beloved husband three years on.
“I love you. I miss your smile and your kindness but most of all I miss you,” she wrote.
“Three years gone but a wonderful life that will never be forgotten.”
Patti’s touching message struck a chord with the public, prompting many to share their own treasured memories of Bert while offering their support.
“A beautiful life, a beautiful family. We all still remember and love Bert alongside you xxx,” one wrote.
“Bert was, and always will be an icon in Australian entertainment Patti. He will live in the hearts of us who had the pleasure to be entertained by him for many years. Much love to you and the family today.”

Bert passed away on October 30, 2021 at age 83 after a long health battle and was undergoing palliative care at a private clinic in Melbourne when he died. The Australian public and entertainment world mourned the entertainment legend during a state funeral shortly after his passing.
Born in 1938, Bert quickly discovered his love of entertainment at a young age with his radio debut on 3XY at age 11. He was a full-time announcer at the Melbourne station by the time he was 15. From the early 1960s to the late 1990s he was the face of a number of popular TV shows, including The Late Show, In Melbourne Tonight, The Don Lane Show, New Faces, Ford Superquiz, The Bert Newton Show, and Tonight with Bert Newton.
