Priscilla Presley has spoken out regarding the ongoing legal feud with her family over her daughter, Lisa Marie’s trust.

As Lisa Marie’s family continue to mourn her death, they now find themselves at the centre of a potential legal battle after lawyers representing Priscilla submitted a request to challenge the legitimacy of a change made in 2016 to Lisa Marie’s trust, which resulted in Priscilla being removed as a co-trustee and Riley Keough being appointed in her place.

Priscilla issued a statement to People magazine in which she addressed the possible legal drama currently unfolding within the family, stressing that she has “always been there for Elvis’ legacy, our family and the fans”.

“I loved Elvis very much as he loved me. Lisa is a result of our love,” Priscilla’s statement began.

“For anyone to think anything differently would be a travesty of the family legacy and would be disrespectful of what Elvis left behind in his life.”

Priscilla went on to make reference to “an individual that bought their way into the family enterprise that is trying to speak on behalf of our family.”

“This person is not a representative of Elvis or our family. Please allow us the time we need to work together and sort this out,” she said.

“Please ignore ‘the noise.’ As I have always been there for Elvis’ legacy, our family and the fans, I will continue to forge a pathway forward with respect, honesty, dignity, integrity and love.”

A hearing regarding the matter is set for April 13.

Lisa Marie passed away on Thursday, January 12 after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest.

According to TMZ, Lisa Marie was rushed to hospital after emergency services attended her home, where they performed CPR before taking her to hospital.

Shortly after being administered to hospital, Lisa Marie’s mother arrived to be by her daughter’s side.

Priscilla later announced the news of her daughter’s “devastating” death in a statement, while thanking the public for their “love and prayers”.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she said.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
