With the holiday season upon us and overseas travel still being completely off the table, many Australians are deciding to explore their own backyard this Christmas instead. And what better way to do it then a good old-fashioned camping trip!

But those who are new to the camping scene, or those who are still using their banged-up tents from the 1980s, might be due for a trip to the shop for some fresh supplies, and the timing couldn’t be better with retail giant Aldi offering a Special Buys camping range full of affordable gear!

The Gone Camping Special Buys will be available in stores on Saturday, December 26, and offers an extensive range of high-quality camping gear that’s designed for everyone from the novice explorer to the expert adventurer.

The range has all the essentials including a sturdy blow-up mattress in both single and double sizes, a full set of fire-friendly cast iron pots and pans, rope, a sleeping bag, a swag, a fold-up table, camping chairs and even a metal detector.

You could nab a central locking gazebo for just $99.99 or a rechargeable lantern or spotlight for $29.99. And remembering that it’s summer, a tent fan is a must-have to avoid overheating on those warm nights and is available for just $14.99; or you might even need a rolling cooler bag to keep the drinks cool all day for $39.99.

Meanwhile, you could get your hands on a four-person pop-tent complete with a cover for just $49.99 and seeing as you’re in Australia, you won’t survive a minute outside without a rechargeable bug zapper that’s on offer for $49.99.

Aldi’s also offering a 55L ice box for $129 and a full range of collapsable accessories including tubs, buckets and laundry baskets that help reduce the clutter in the car without cutting back on the essentials.

The camping range has proven in the past to be popular among customers with products usually flying off the shelves as soon as they’re launched. So if you want to get your hands on a good deal before you go bush this year, make sure you get in quick!
