Oprah Winfrey is one of the most recognisable faces on TV right across the globe, but she completely transformed for her latest magazine cover shoot with British Vogue.

The 64-year-old TV star looks flawless in the photoshoot, as she poses in a frilled and cream custom-made taffeta Stella McCartney gown. Adding dramatic Buccellati earrings to the ensemble, and wearing her hair scraped back from her face in a large bun, she looks worlds away from her usual on-screen appearances – where she classically opts for loosely-curled hair styles.

Looking straight at the camera, she half smiles in the casual close-up, with the words “Oprah’s next act” spread across the page below her, promoting her tell-all interview inside.

More photos inside the mag show the TV star opt for classic and elegant styles, with one photo showing her laughing up at the top of the camera in a deep red ball gown.

Appearing to take inspiration from the royals, she wears a large diamond headband and matching earrings, with her hair transformed from the more simple bun to a full, pinned up curled look. She’s holding each hand across her chest and appears completely care-free in the snap.

A third and final photo then sees her step back in time in a black and white photo, this time wearing a floor-length floral dress with a large diamond brooch on the top. Keeping her larger curled hair style, she swaps the diamond band for a large clip and adds stiletto heels to the stunning look.

She described the shoot as feeling “regal”, and wrote on Instagram: “This was an incredibly regal experience. Thank you @edward_enninful and @britishvogue for making me Empress for a day. And @mertalas, @macpiggott…a dream I didn’t even know I had to be photographed by you two.”

Speaking to the mag, Oprah opened up on a fashion faux pas she nearly made at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding earlier this year. While she stood out from the crowd in a stunning pink outfit, the star’s original dress was actually cream.

Just two days before the wedding, she looked at the Stella McCartney number and realised it “looked white, not cream. I Googled, ‘Can you wear white to a wedding? Answer: ‘No, don’t risk it’.” The designer managed to have it remade in pink just in time.

Elsewhere, she also discussed her fans’ pleas for her to run for presidency in 2020 following her inspirational and moving 2018 Golden Globes speech. While viewers rushed to social media to call for her to run for the top political spot, she’s confirmed she’ll never do it – as she fears it would “kill her”.

“In that political structure – all the non-truths, the bulls**t, the crap, the nastiness, the backhanded backroom stuff that goes on – I feel like I could not exist,” she added to the mag “I would not be able to do it. It’s not a clean business. It would kill me.”
