Royal affairs like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding are bound to yield some wild toppers, and the Royal Ascot is no exception. It’s that time of year again, when Britain’s socialites and royals go all-out with their fashion choices.

Following tradition, the royals have been out in force for the first two days of the annual horse race, and they definitely didn’t disappoint. However, several other attendees have stolen the show with their standout hat choices.

Here, we’ve rounded up some of the brightest and boldest headpieces we’ve seen so far.

For the first day of the Royal Ascot, the Queen went for a bright yellow hat with blue flowers. She matched the vibrant look with a huge smile, much to the delight of the crowd.

And she was joined by an array of bold looks from the crowds, with a few standout choices making it through to the top of the style stakes.

Another attendee wore the flag of England on her head, showing some good old fashioned pride for the country – with a racy edge as she added a veil of fishnet material over her face.

Meanwhile, one guest stunned in a Greek goddess-inspired headpiece featuring gold feather detailing. It looked set for the stage, and she provided strong competition for show stealer on the day with a similarly huge dress – which even needed an attendant to hold up and keep in place.

Elsewhere, one attendee wore a headpiece in the shape of a (very) oversized pink rose, which matched perfectly with her powder-pink suit. She was joined by another beautiful woman who wore a very vibrant orange-and-yellow headpiece that definitely stood out from the crowd!

One race goer featured a painted horse on her hat, which was certainly the most on-theme design of the day. After all, if you can’t get away with it at Ascot, when can you?

Meanwhile, pink cherry blossoms adorned another exceptionally detailed design, bringing flower power to the races.

Elsewhere, another attendee was hard to miss in their orange-and-black feathered fascinator. She even dug out some mirrored orange glasses to match.

Every year, the glamorous event brings out some of the most outrageous and vibrant styles, but this year’s hats have proved the real winner.

What do you think? Which hat is your favourite? Would you wear any of these?
