A woman was facing court for shoplifting.

“What did you steal?” the judge asked.

“A can of peaches,” said the woman. “I was hungry.”

“And how many peaches were in the can?” the judge asked.

“Six, your Honour.”

“Then I will give you six days in jail.”

Before the judge could pronounce the sentence, the woman’s husband spoke up.

“She also stole a can of peas,” he said.
