It’s hard to believe Starts at 60’s beloved, globe-trotting little sister, Travel at 60 (TAS), turns three on Monday, September 13. To mark the occasion, we caught up with TAS’ chief commercial officer, Wendy Harch, for a bit of an overview of the past few years and to hear what they have in store for travellers – including special discounts and freebies.

“In the first 18 months after launch in September 2018, we helped our customers travel all over the world by train, plane, cruise ships, self-drive and coach,” Wendy explains. “In the past 18 months, we’ve worked with our customers to find travel options within Australia, within their home state and sometimes even just up the road – thanks to Covid! We’ve managed to keep people travelling whenever and however we could.”

When asked which have been Travel at 60’s most popular holidays, Wendy reveals, “Rail journeys to Longreach, Gulf Savannah holidays, touring around New Zealand and cruises down the Murray River have all been firm favourites.” If you want to read more about the three Murray River cruises currently available through Travel at 60, click here.

And what about cruises? “Our biggest selling cruise holiday is the spectacular 28-night circumnavigation of Australia,” Wendy says. “We’re always sure we book extra cabins on that cruise because we know we will get a big group of Travel at 60 customers on that departure.” You can join the waitlist for that cruise or find out more by clicking here.

But we can’t forget the community group holidays! “We’ve seen a huge amount of growth in our Travel at 60 community group holidays,” Wendy confirms. “Our customers know they are travelling with like-minded people, and will be on an itinerary suited to their needs when they book one of these holidays.” If you want to read about upcoming community group holidays, click here.

“We’re so thankful for the support from our loyal customers, some of whom have become firm friends with their travel consultant,” Wendy adds.

When asked what the near future has in store, Wendy says, “We are really looking forward to the next few months, as we know there is so much pent-up demand for travel and so many of our customers have future travel credits. It’s going to be an exciting time and we’re ready!”

To help celebrate their third birthday, Travel at 60 is running a birthday sale with exclusive discounts and freebies to places such as Fraser Island, Tasmania and New Zealand, and events such the Parkes Elvis Festival in January and the Southern Lights. Click here to find out more!
