Yellowstone fans rejoice, the hit ranch drama series has officially confirmed its return for a fifth season in 2022.
According to Taste of Country, the network announced the news on Thursday via a press release, with production beginning this coming May 2022.
Fans will be delighted to hear that Yellowstone’s principal casts, including Kevin Costner, playing main man John Dutton, Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton) are all expected to return in the new season.
Other fan favourites, Jen Landon, who plays Teeter, and Kathryn Kelly (Emily), have also earned regular slots on the show, so expect to see more of their characters this coming season.
Yellowstone, which follows the story of the Dutton family and their various disputes on their cattle ranch, has become the most-watched on cable television since it launched in 2018.
Casts of the show have regularly been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
In an interview with Variety, Executive Producer David C. Glasser says the show’s co-creator and writer, Taylor Sheridan, is “deep into Season five.” Stating that Sheridan has great ideas he’s sure the fanbase will love.
The massive success of Yellowstone has also created multiple spinoffs, including 1883, which stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton, the great-great-grandparents of John Dutton, (Costner) and tells the origin story of Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.
No final premiere date has yet been announced for the new season, but according to Variety, Yellowstone Season 5 is expected to premiere in the US this fall.
