Supermarket giant Woolworths has recalled two popular dairy free milk alternatives over contamination fears of an “undeclared allergen”.

The products in question are the Macro Certified Organic Unsweetened Coconut Milk 1 litre and Macro Certified Organic Naturally Sweet Rice Milk 1 litre varieties which were found to contain traces of milk when the products are branded as being dairy free.

The products have been available for sale at Woolworths stores in Victoria only, while the Macro Certified Organic Naturally Sweet Rice Milk 1 litre has been available for sale at Woolworths in New South Wales and Queensland.

The recalled products were available for sale from April 6, 2022 to April 19, 2022.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand alerted consumers to the recall “due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (milk)” in a statement.

“Any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” the statement said.

“Consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return it to their nearest Woolworths Supermarket or Metro Stores for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Customers seeking further information regarding the recall can contact Woolworths on 1800 103 515.
