The 2015 TripAdvisor, Traveller’s Choice Awards included a new award for Australia’s most luxurious place to stay. Based on the reviews from tourists they’ve compiled  list of the top 25 luxury hotels throughout the country.

After reading the list I realised I hadn’t actually been to any of these hotels however I was mighty curious so I looked up the number one place – Tasmania’s five-star Saffire Freycinet in Coles Bay and had to have a look. I have visited Coles Bay (or Wineglass bay as it is also known) but certainly not in this style!

So take a look at the top ten below and the photos and tell us, where is the most luxurious place you’ve stayed? Are you a luxury traveller or a do-more-on-a-budget traveller? Share your thoughts in the comments below…

1. Saffire Freycinet, Coles Bay, Tasmania

2. Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island, South Australia

3. Spicers Vineyards Estate, Pokolbin, Hunter Valley, New South Wales

4. ADGE Apartment Hotel, Sydney, New South Wales

5. Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa, Wolgan Valley, New South Wales
