Stamp prices have increased but you can get a discount… Here’s how!

Share:

Australia Post increased their stamp prices by 10 cents on the 1st of this month, making it now 70 cents to post a letter. Luckily, if you’re an eligible concession card holder, you can have it reduced back to 60 cents…

Eligible concession card holders are entitled to 50 reduced price stamps per year, but monitoring this makes getting the discount a little difficult.

Instead of just being able to flash your card when you buy stamps, you need to apply for a MyPost Concession Account.

To be eligible, you need to have any one of the following concession cards:

  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
  • Health Care Card
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs Card, or a
  • Veterans’ Repatriation Card

If you can apply then click here to print out the form, fill it in and take it to your local post office (find your closest Australia Post by clicking here).

If you’re successful in your application, you can expect a MyPost Concession card and five free stamps in the post so get in quick.

Cardholders will also receive concession rates on Mail Hold and Mail Redirection services and a digital mailbox, which allows users to pay bills and communicate with selected providers.
