The Royal Family’s ranks have grown even larger after Princess Eugenie announced the arrival of her second child.
The royal took to Instagram to share the happy news alongside a series of photos of her new bundle of joy. In the first photo, her son is shown wearing a blue and white knitted hat as he sleeps in a cradle.
In the second photo, her eldest son August is pictured meeting his younger brother while placing his hand on his brother’s head.
“Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs,” Eugenie wrote.
“He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald.
“Augie is loving being a big brother already.”
Royal fans were quick to congratulate the young royal on the latest addition to her family.
“Congratulations Eugenie. Your heavenly grandma Lilibet and grandpa Philip would have been so proud and thrilled after hearing the news of the arrival of another great-grandchild,” one royal fan wrote.
“Congratulations! What a gorgeous boy!”
“Huge congratulations – gorgeous boy, beautiful name! Being a mum of two boys is very special indeed. Enjoy the precious love bubble,” another commented.
“What a beautiful boy! Welcome to the world, baby Ernest.”

The most recent member of the Royal Family will be given the title of Master Brooksbank and will be 13th in line for the throne, pushing the Duke of Edinburgh to 14th place.
Princess Eugenie originally announced her pregnancy on August 2, 2022, with an adorable photo of her son kissing her growing belly.
“We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,” the Princess wrote.
Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their first child, August, on February 9 2021 at The Portland Hospital in central London.
A statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed the news at the time.
The Palace said that the Royal Family was “delighted” by the happy news.
“This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh,” the statement read.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
