Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge met with the Crown Princess Mary of Denmark in Copenhagen on Wednesday, February 23, and fans were left stunned by their likeness.

The meeting comes as The Duchess of Cambridge kicked off her first solo royal tour on a two-day working visit to Denmark with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

The Duchess sported a conservative, collared grey and black dress, tailored to perfection and embellished with four gold buttons and a subtly pinched waistline. Princess Mary opted for sheer black stockings, an understated black dress and a statement white coat to match.

The royal women wore their hair down in loose waves and curls, looking a mirrored image of royal elegance and grace as they conversed with Queen Margarethe II of Denmark who is celebrating her Golden Jubilee this year.

The royal ladies were also pictured walking together outside the Palace, wearing matching black gloves and united merry expressions.

Yesterday, the pair visited a crisis shelter for women, a project designed to protect vulnerable women and children at risk of domestic violence. The project is endorsed by The Mary Foundation, welcoming approximately 2000 new children into the shelter each year, alongside their mothers.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Mary have met a total of three times to date, meeting for the first time in 2011 and again in 2016 when the pair attended Royal Ascot. The royal women have long been an inspiration and example to their fans and monarchies, frequently involved in various initiatives focused on supporting women and children.

Kensington Palace described the intention of Kate’s solo trip as an opportunity for England to understand more about how Mary’s Copenhagen Infant Mental Health Project (CIMHP) has promoted healthy early childhood development. Particularly, how CIMHP has “created an enabling culture for early childhood development, specifically how it has promoted infant mental well-being alongside physical health, and how it harnesses the power of nature, relationships, and playful learning in the first five years of life.”

Earlier this month, the Duchess spoke took to Twitter to describe her excitement for the upcoming work trip to Denmark.

“Looking forward to learning from experts, parents and practitioners about Denmark’s approach to early childhood later this month,” wrote the Duchess.

“Denmark is a beacon of best practice in its approach to the early years which values the roles of parents and results in both communities of support and government policies that underpin the best start in life.”

Kate’s trip to Denmark and her meeting with Danish royals celebrates the bond between Britain and Denmark and creates a united stance towards promoting infant mental well-being and support for domestic violence affected women and children.
