While all eyes have been on the younger members of the royal family over the past week, Queen Elizabeth stepped out in a pretty peach ensemble for her weekly church visit.

The Queen attended the Sunday morning service, as she often does, at the St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church in King’s Lynn, England. Despite the chilly weather, the 92-year-old was all smiles as she was greeted by a crowd of well-wishers.

For the service, the Queen looked gorgeous in a peach woollen topcoat which featured large front buttons and a matching peach hat. Wearing her favourite black loafers, she accessorised with black gloves and her signature smart black leather handbag looped over one arm.

The monarch’s appearance comes just weeks after the British royals were rocked by drama, after her husband the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a traffic accident with another vehicle near to the Queen’s private residence Sandringham House.

British woman Emma Fairweather was left with a broken wrist last month after Prince Philip, 97, pulled out of a side road whilst driving his Land Rover and collided with the Kia she was travelling in, alongside a friend and her nine-month-old baby.

Despite initial reports that the duke had not apologised to the victim, UK newspaper The Daily Mirror printed a letter from Prince Philip last week in which he said he was “very sorry” for his part in the accident.

“I have been across that crossing any number of times and I know very well the amount of traffic that uses that main road,” the letter reads, according to The Mirror. “It was a bright sunny day and at about three in the afternoon, the sun was low over the Wash. In other words, the sun was shining low over the main road.”

“In normal conditions I would have no difficulty in seeing traffic coming from the Dersingham direction, but I can only imagine that I failed to see the car coming, and I am very contrite about the consequences.”

Later this week, the Queen will officially mark her 67th year as Queen of England. Princess Elizabeth, who was just 25 at the time, became Queen on February 6 1952 following the death of her beloved father George VI.

The Queen is only three years away from her platinum jubilee — 70 years on the throne — which would be a first for a British sovereign.

She became the longest-serving British monarch on September 9, 2015, surpassing Queen Victoria who reigned for 63 years, seven months and two days. Meanwhile, she is also now the world’s longest-reigning monarch following the death of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
