Princess Eugenie and her soon-to-be husband Jack Brooksbank have taken a step back in time as they reflect on their relationship before their wedding day, sharing a series of special photos from their personal collection with the public.

The youngest daughter of Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew will marry her sweetheart Jack on October 12, in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle – the same venue at which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said their vows in May.

In the lead up to the celebration, the royal family has given the public a sneak peak into the lives of the happy couple, and released more details about their imminent wedding day.

The first photo shows the couple on holiday in 2016, rugged up in big coats and sporting knee-high gum boots in the snow-dappled mountains. Another snap shows them cuddling closely as they celebrated the New Year’s Eve together last year with big grins on their faces.

“Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank and their families have also released pictures of the couple together today,” the Royal Family wrote on the Instagram post. “This first photograph was taken during a visit to Balmoral in the summer of 2016. Swipe for another photograph of the couple celebrating New Year’s last year.”

The royals also shared two sweet photos of the princess and her fiancé as children.

Looking absolutely adorable, the young princess can be seen smiling for cameras, her blue eyes shining and rosy red cheeks making for the perfect childhood snap. Her fiancé Jack looks equally as cute in his throwback photo, as he cradles his head with a big grin on his face.

Eugenie and Jack began dating after meeting in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier in 2010, with Jack proposing to the princess whilst on holiday in Nicaragua earlier this year. Since then wedding plans have been in full swing and while there’s no word yet on who designed Eugenie’s wedding gown, her sister and maid-of-honour Princess Beatrice was photographed leaving the London store of couture designer Ralph and Russo on Tuesday.

The wedding will officially kick off at 11am on Friday, with the Dean of Windsor, The Rt Revd. David Conner officiating the ceremony. The Archbishop of York, the Most Revd. And Rt. Hon. John Sentamu will lead the prayers.

According to the palace, legendary singer Andrea Bocelli will be performing during the ceremony, which is sure to make the service memorable. Additionally, musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will perform during the couple’s nuptials.

The couple will also complete a carriage procession through the streets of Windsor, and similar to Harry and Meghan’s wedding day, members of the British public will also watch on from within the castle grounds.

Later that evening, Queen Elizabeth will host the reception at Windsor Castle.

Kensington Palace also revealed that the engaged couple have made a very different choice for their wedding cake. For their wedding day, the couple have chosen red velvet and chocolate cake, “incorporating colours of autumn and decorated with ivy”.

Royalists in Australia will be able to view live coverage from inside St. George’s Chapel from 7pm on Friday, October 12. Channel Seven will broadcast the royal wedding on channels 7, 7TWO and live on 7Plus for viewers in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia who will be delayed due to Daylight Saving Time.
