A sea of tributes for the late Princess Diana have poured in following the 25th anniversary of her death in a clear indication of the incredible impact she held in people’s lives across the globe, and although Prince Harry’s children were never able to meet their grandmother it appears the “people’s princess” still holds a powerful presence in their lives.

In a recent interview with the AppleTV+ docuseries, The Me You Can’t See, Prince Harry revealed his son Archie’s first words some of which held a special connection to Diana.

“I got a photo of her (Diana) in his nursery, and it was one of the first words that he said, apart from ‘mama,’ ‘papa,’ it was then ‘grandma’. Grandma Diana,” he revealed.

“It’s the sweetest thing, but at the same time, it makes me really sad because she should be here.”

Harry recently revealed in an interview with NBC’s Today that he feels his mother’s “presence in almost everything” that he does.

“It’s almost as though she’s done her bit with my brother and now she’s very much helping me. She’s got him set up and now she’s helping me set up – that’s what it feels like,” he said.

Harry explained that he feels Diana “watching over” him and his family while revealing that when it comes to discussing his mother that he doesn’t tell Archie “all the stuff that happened, but certainly, ‘This is Grandma Diana’”.

The world stopped to honour Princess Diana on Wednesday, August 31 for the 25th anniversary of her death, and although Harry didn’t publicly commemorate the day as Diana’s brother Charles Spencer and close friend Elton John did, Harry recently reflected on his late mother’s legacy while revealing how he plans to honour his mother.

Following a charity polo match at Sentebale Polo Club in Colorado on Thursday, August 25, Harry addressed the crowd where he revealed that he wants the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death to be “a day filled with memories of her incredible work and love for the way that she did it”.

“Next week is the 25th anniversary of my mother’s death, and she most certainly will never be forgotten,” he said.

“I want it to be a day to share the spirit of my mum with my family, with my children, who I wish could have met her.

“Every day, I hope to do her proud.”

Princess Diana tragically passed away after succumbing to injuries she sustained in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, she was 36 years old.
