Prince William is a huge football supporter and it seems he’s passed that love down to his son Prince George as the young royal couldn’t contain his excitement when his team scored on Saturday.

George was joined by both his parents William and Catherine, as well as his younger sister Charlotte, as they watched the Duke of Cambridge’s favourite team Aston Villa take on Norwich City in the UK – but it was George who truly stole the show with his incredibly excited reactions as his team won 5-1.

Captured next to his dad on camera, the six-year-old leapt out of his seat, waved his fist in the air and jumped up and down in happiness as he watched the team score. At one point, he even leaned back and threw his head back with his eyes tight shut, as he struggled to contain his excitement.

Both Prince William and Catherine looked highly amused by their son’s passionate display, as William whispered to him while his wife laughed from the side. Princess Charlotte didn’t look quite as excited by the match, but was seen happily chatting to her mum throughout.

Seeing the footage after their win, Aston Villa shared their happiness at having the royal family watching on as they tweeted: “You know how to pick your #AVFC games, Your Royal Highness.” And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared the clip shortly after on their own Instagram page, simply writing: “A fantastic performance from Aston Villa @AVFCofficial at Norwich today!”

Fans shared their happiness at a glimpse of the royals, with one writing: “George you are so cute and a delight to watch.” Another added: “Super fan!!!!! Thank you for sharing his excitement!!! Pure joy!!!!!”

It’s thought to be Prince George’s first public football match so it’s no surprise he looked as excited as he did. And while William is often pictured at the matches with his brother Prince Harry, it’s rare for his wife Catherine and their daughter Charlotte to join him too.

And it comes just weeks after the palace released a new official photo of the two siblings, without their baby brother Prince Louis, as Charlotte started her first day at school. The gorgeous photograph was shared on the official Kensington Royal Instagram page and showed the shy four-year-old cuddling up to her big brother for the monumental occasion.

The two royal siblings were dressed in their school uniforms and smiled with delight as they posed ahead of the start of the new school year. Proving he’s a great big brother, Prince George wrapped his arm around his sister on what would have been a nervous day for her.

A message shared on Instagram read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a photograph of Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning.” The photograph was taken shortly before the siblings left for their first day.

The official photograph from Catherine and William came hours after Charlotte was seen walking into the private school near the family’s home. She was spotted holding hands with her parents, dressed in her crisp school uniform.
