To celebrate the end of Volunteers’ Week in the UK, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a never-before-seen photo of Prince George and Princess Charlotte on social media.

The sweet snap, which was taken by Catherine earlier this year at the Sandringham Estate, shows Prince William volunteering with his children George, six, and Charlotte, five. At the time, the family spent an afternoon delivering food parcels to isolated pensioners in the local area. Photographs of the outing were released in May to mark Princess Charlotte’s fifth birthday, but the photo on the Kensington Palace account is a new one.

In the photo, Charlotte can be seen wearing a navy gingham dress, while big brother George wore a sweater and jeans.

“As we approach the end of #VolunteersWeek, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photo taken by The Duchess as they played their own part in the national volunteering effort,” the caption said.

“In April, The Duke and Duchess and their family visited the Sandringham Estate where they packed up and delivered food parcels to isolated pensioners in the local area.”

Royal fans were quick to comment on the adorable pic, with one writing: “Wonderful family.” Another added: “What a beautiful picture.” While a third wrote: “This is wonderful! Such a caring family.”

Queen Elizabeth also posted a heartfelt tribute to commemorate the week on social media, writing: “As Volunteers’ Week draws to a close, it is inspiring to reflect on the many thousands of people, who through their acts of generosity and kindness, have achieved so much for the greater good.

“I have been following with interest how men and women from around the world, including my own family, have been helping and recognising the vital role of the volunteer. I send my best wishes to all those who give themselves so freely and selflessly in the service of others.”
