Prince Andrew has formally denied sexual abuse allegations, asking for a jury trial in the civil lawsuit being brought against him by alleged victim Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre alleges that Andrew was a co-conspirator of Jeffrey Epstein.

In court papers submitted to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, Andrew and his legal team respond to each paragraph of Giuffre’s lawsuit.

It is alleged in the lawsuit that Epstein trafficked Giuffre, and as reported by CNN “forced her to have sex with his friends, including Andrew, and that Andrew was aware she was underage in the US at the time”.

“Prince Andrew denies that he was a co-conspirator of Epstein or that Epstein trafficked girls to him,” Prince Andrew’s attorneys wrote.

In the filed documents, Andrew’s team put forth 11 affirmative defenses, with one stating “Giuffre’s alleged causes of action are barred in whole or in part by her own wrongful conduct and the doctrine of unclean hands.”

Andrew’s statement, however, does include admissions to knowing Epstein. Andrew admits to having met Epstein in 1999. Andrew also shared that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell attended his 40th birthday party, in 2000, and that Andrew and Epstein spent time together in New York City in 2010, with Andrew and Epstein spotted in Central Park, and Andrew spending time at Epstein’s NYC mansion.

Giuffre’s attorneys have replied to Andrew’s filing, saying:

“Prince Andrew’s answer continues his approach of denying any knowledge or information concerning the claims against him, and purporting to blame the victim of the abuse for somehow bringing it on herself … We look forward to confronting Prince Andrew with his denials and attempts to blame Ms. Giuffre for her own abuse at his deposition and at trial.”\
This rebuttal from Andrew comes just weeks after he was officially stripped of all royal titles by the Queen.
