King Charles has taken a page out of millenials’ book and broken a lifetime tradition

Despite the serious nature of his diagnosis, King Charles continues to fight his cancer in a brilliant display of resilience and strength. However, a recent recommendation from his medical advisors has revealed a strange lifestyle choice that must now be broken.

The King has never had lunch.

Indeed, he shies away from any midday meals, citing his busy schedule as the main reason for skipping what he considers a “luxury”.

Now, in the face of a threat to his health, he has been advised to begin embarking on the first of many lunches, and he’s revealed his favourite snack to start his noontime nibbles.

That’s right — like the millenials and Gen Z’ers of the modern decade, the monarch’s favourite lunch to munch on is an avocado. Specifically, half an avocado.

He doesn’t have it smashed, or on toast, or with anything else. Just half an avocado, strictly for utilitarian purposes, to fuel him for the rest of the day.

While it’s not exactly a proper lunch, it’s certainly a start for someone in his 70s, and we hope to see how his menu evolves — perhaps to include some tea and biscuits!

The insights into King Charles’ eating habits come after BBC journalist Tom Bower revealed in his 2018 exposé, Rebel Prince, that a rare midday snack run ended in fright after Charles encountered a common household item.

Upon entering the dining room, King Charles reportedly sighted cling wrap and shrieked at it, prompting his wife Camilla to rush to his side. After all, when a member of the royal family screams, it’s enough to make anyone’s blood run cold.

When Camilla realised the source of his distress, however, she easily placated his concerns: “It’s cling film, darling”.

Indeed, among butlers, waiters and chefs, one wouldn’t expect a member of the royal family to ever really have to handle cling wrap.

However, the incident granted us a unique perspective into the everyday living habits of the royals. If cling wrap was alien enough to elicit such a strong reaction, what else were they not familiar with that anyone one of us might have in our pantry?
